The group, “Promoting Searcy,” filed their first financial report with the state Ethics Commission. Here are their records thus far:
$500 – Betty Mote 111 Water Oak
$100 – Marla Duncan 2936 West Country Club
$300 – Arkansas Democrat Gazette “Advertising”
$264 – Staples “Flyers”
Interesting lack of disclosure, considering the group has purchased several signs, fliers and have now launched an expensive website. Granted, the website could have been purchased this month and therefore should not be included in the February financial report. However, the signs and banners have been going up for weeks and were certainly purchased in the month of February.
Who is funding this group? And why is it not being reported?
These are the same people who are telling us “we can trust them” to “do the right thing” with the A&P Tax revenue. Feeling very trusting?
Looks like the the era of closed-door government (and disrespect for the law) continues in Searcy.
