Searcy Mayoral Runoff Election Results

After a brief three week runoff campaign, the votes have been counted:

David Morris – 2,022

Belinda Laforce – 1,372

The margin of victory was 20 percent.

Laforce was an 8-year incumbent.  She will leave office on January 1.

Morris, a former county judge, is believed to be the only person elected White County Judge & Searcy mayor.  The Patriot is working to verify this.

Editor’s Note: “The people of Searcy have made a clear & decisive choice.  They are tired of the lack of leadership in city hall.  Today, it is a new day in Searcy.  Mayor-elect Morris is a man of integrity who will lead with honesty & transparency.  We look forward to the bright future ahead for our great city.  Congratulations, Mister Mayor.”
