Searcy, AR – Citizens for Responsible Taxation, a watchdog group in White County that formed to oppose the county tax increase proposal, has released more results from their August 4th poll.

The survey had over 700 highly likely voter respondents.  When asked if they support the Searcy Bypass Tax:

64% of respondents said “no.”

36% said “yes.”

“Again, these numbers confirm what we have been hearing from voters all over the county.  They do not want to pay higher taxes & they do not like the redistributive structure of this proposal,” said Nicholas Horton, Chairman of CRT.

“The people of this county are very bright.  They realize that this proposal is a money grab by the county government designed to bailout the city of Searcy.”

Horton continued, “We remain focused on our efforts to put voters in the polls on September 13th so that their voices can be heard in a truly representative way.”
