Searcy mayor David Morris has called a special meeting tomorrow night at 7:00 PM. The topic of discussion will be funding for the north bypass route that will run through part of the city of Searcy.
Mayor Morris has said in the local paper that the additional revenue will most likely have to come from a tax increase.
According to Searcy officials, the city must come up with $3,000,000 in order to secure the north half of the project.
According to state highway officials, the road is still on their project docket, despite the failure of the county-wide tax earlier this month that was supposed to fund the project.
